Hannah had always been drawn to dreadlocks but once embarking on her mental health nurse training in the 1990’s she was told in no uncertain terms that it would be unacceptable to have her hair locked.

Shocking? Yes, yes it was!

Fast forward and having left nursing behind to pursue a more creative pathway working in costumes and props she was asked to install her first head of dreadlocks.

Since 2016 she has been installing and maintaining for friends.

Initially self-taught she soon realised that there was a need locally for a well trained and professional loctician. So, she completed her certified training with Elemental Locks.

She is now offering her dreadlock services from a home based studio full-time.

Alchemy Dreadlocks specialises in crochet method which is suitable for all hair types. You can have you dreadlocks created, extended, maintained, mended, decorated and even have a temporary set installed.
